New York metro. Is there anything special about it? (p2)

This is actually one more post about New York. From the previous blog remember? I was going to tell you about the subway. I'm sure you think that it is boring to talk about the fucking subway. It is just an transportation system. Well it is not. It is a romantic story. Before I went to NYC I have never heard about New York's subway. Never used it, never read something about it, nothing. I just entered inside. At first glance it was dirty, nasty and very very different from the shiny and clean metro stations in Washington DC, Munich in Germany, or even Chicago. Both Chicago's and New York's subways are really old. Manhattan's subway is a city under the city. It is story under the story, and it is so impressive from the architectural point of view. From engineering point of view that is the perfect transportation system.  It is the city's heart! I mean I'm not a person who have traveled a lot and seen all the metro systems in the World, but after I saw the ...

What is so magical about New York City? (p1)

WARNING: This blogpost probably is going to be a little longer then the other ones. I mean, New York deserves that! First of all, I would like to apologize about some grammar errors in general on this blog. I'm not a native English speaker and in some of the blogs emotions are embedded. And when there is an emotion, there is no reason. You know, for grammar you need a reason. But I think that my, non native american, perspective on things might be interesting for you. New York?  I spent a couple of days in New York City. I'm too excited. City of my dreams. I did not expected that this city is so magical. You fall in love at first sight. The first thing i saw from the bus's (Bolt Bus got me round trip from DC to New York for $40) window were helicopters, a lot of them. First thought was that something is going on in the city.  On the way to 6-th avenue between Grants and Watts (where the bus should have left me) i saw around 20 helicopters. After a while i realized ...

I've met Casey Neistat

I've met the man. The golden boy of YouTube. New York City in front of his office. I was on my way to the bus with which I should have traveled to Washington DC. The subway left me three blocks from the meeting point. I was an hour early. I said to my self that I will pass by Casey's office, it is on my way to the bus anyway. For the record, I'm huge fun of Casey Neistat and his work. If you have asked me which celebrity i would like to meet the most, I would certainly answer Casey Neistat. I arrived in front of his office, and called a friend of mine who is also fan of Casey. He did not answered my call. I called coworker of mine, he also like Casey very much. I was showing him where I was, and suddenly in my frame Casey showed up. He was leaving a store next to his office. Me: Ej Casey (Ej is Macedonian, i was not able to use my English, because i was too excited).  Casey : Hi man. What's up? Me: Can we take a picture....of...hum... Casey: Sure man.  Me: ...

Interview with a sports journalist

Join me for The Megaphone, a weekly podcast about journalism, media, and active media students in the United States. Just flexing the muscle

I use to have a blog earlier, but i stopped writing because nobody was reading that crap of mine. I know that probably none will read this thing also, but I also know that I want to write it. This guy, he is a journalist from USA TODAY and at 17.10.2017 today (funny) he was speaking in front of the members of Society for Professional Journalists about his career. He was so motivating and was telling the students that they should write stuff all the time. He gave one comparison about writing with "flexing muscle". I guess that is some kind of american expression, but regardless it reminded me on fitness. And if you think about it journalism, writing or communicating is lot like fitness. You can learn as much as you want, you can read about it, you can take classes about fitness, but you will not get the results unless you start "flexing your own muscles". - Don't care too much, if none reads that, even if it is only read by your mother, sister and grandmother, a...

I have a podcast!

Me interviewing Sosan Malik I think that the first couple of blogs should be just a short introduction about me. That is why I'm sharing a couple of things with you that I have already done. Beside me being a journalist in Macedonia I also have some international experience. I'm working for WGMU radio. That is radio at the George Mason University in Virginia. So, I have a podcast there. I interview all kind of people. I interviewed students, stuff and journalists. Most of the episodes I will share with you, here on my blog. I will not stop doing podcasts on a various of topics. This one is not my first one at WGMU, actually is one of the last one, but I think it is interesting for you to listen to it. I've done it with Sosan Malik, the co-editor in chief for the students newspaper Fourth Estate. It is a newspaper run by the students at George Mason University. The actual interview can be found at this link  Podcast with Sosan Malik  .
